Asante Gold Corporation, a gold production, exploration and development company with a high-quality portfolio of mines and projects in Ghana, has reinforced its long-term growth strategy at the Bibiani mine in Ghana after confirming a continuous, structurally controlled mineralized corridor stretching approximately 3.7 kilometers from Russel in the south to Little Mug (now Cut 6) in the north.

The discovery, anchored along the Bibiani Shear Zone (BSZ), provides a strong geological foundation for near-mine expansion, with ongoing drilling continuing to test extensions both along strike and at depth.

Drilling campaign strengthens resource confidence

Between 2024 and 2025, Asante completed approximately 43,000 meters of near-mine drilling across the Main Pit and several satellite targets, including Walsh, Russel, Grasshopper, and Big Mug.

At the Main Pit, drilling has de-risked underground mineral resources and supported a revised geological model, with early reconciliation data showing improved grade distribution. The updated estimate places measured and indicated resources at approximately 1.93 million ounces, including 1.53 million ounces in reserves, alongside inferred resources of about 925,000 ounces.

Despite a total mineralized strike length of roughly 4,000 meters, only 1,800 meters have been historically mined, highlighting significant untapped potential. Mineralization has been defined to depths of approximately 600 meters and remains open both along strike and at depth.

High-grade extensions boost underground potential

Drilling at Big Mug, the northern extension of the Main Pit, confirmed structural continuity and demonstrated that mineralization remains open at depth. Notable intercepts include 15 meters at 2.04 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and multiple zones exceeding 3 g/t.

Below the current resource, three high-grade shoots, North, Central, and South Deeps, have been identified as down-plunge extensions of the system. Mineralization has been confirmed to approximately 650 meters below surface and is interpreted to extend to depths of up to 1,400 meters.

Russel drilling confirms southern and depth extensions

At the Russel deposit, approximately 12,500 meters of drilling tested both strike and depth extensions, confirming near-surface mineralization about 300 meters south of the existing open pit.

While surface mineralization appears discontinuous, deeper drilling has identified high-grade zones, including intercepts of 9 meters at 18.70 g/t gold. These results support the delineation of an underground resource of approximately 38,000 ounces at an average grade of 2.55 g/t, with additional inferred resources.

Satellite targets advance toward resource definition

Beyond the core deposits, Asante is advancing several near-mine targets toward maiden resource status. At Cut 6, drilling has delineated gold mineralization over a 1.2-kilometer strike length, transitioning the project from advanced exploration to resource appraisal.

Pamunu and Asempaneye have also returned encouraging near-surface mineralization, with follow-up drilling planned to support potential open-pit development. These satellite targets are expected to play a key role in sustaining production and extending mine life.

2026 programme targets resource conversion and growth

Asante’s 2026 exploration programme is focused on converting inferred resources to indicated categories, expanding underground potential, and advancing satellite deposits.

Approximately 25,685 meters of a planned 33,250-meter drilling campaign have already been completed. At the Main Pit, deep drilling has confirmed mineralization to 650 meters below surface, with ongoing work targeting depths of up to 1,600 meters.

Additional drilling is planned at Russel to support underground studies, while Cut 6, Pamunu, and Asempaneye will undergo further resource definition and step-out drilling.

The company is also preparing an expanded exploration budget for 2027, aimed at rebuilding its resource pipeline following a constrained 2024–2025 period.

Greenfields exploration expands long-term pipeline

Beyond near-mine growth, Asante is advancing a broader greenfields exploration strategy across its 775-square-kilometer land package in Ghana’s Bibiani and Chirano belts.

Initial work includes surface mapping, geochemical sampling, and geophysical surveys to identify new drill targets. Early-stage prospects at Chirano and Bibiani have already shown encouraging signs of mineralization, with first-pass drilling scheduled from late 2026 into 2027.

The company views the largely underexplored corridor as comparable to major global gold belts, positioning greenfields exploration as a multi-year opportunity to define new mining operations.

Bibiani positions Asante for sustained growth

The confirmation of a continuous mineralized corridor and expanding resource base reinforces Bibiani’s role as a cornerstone asset in Asante’s portfolio.

With strong drilling results, growing underground potential, and an expanding exploration pipeline, the company is well positioned to extend mine life, increase production, and capitalize on rising global demand for gold.

As exploration progresses across both near-mine and greenfields targets, Bibiani is emerging as a long-term growth engine within one of West Africa’s most prolific gold belts. Asante Gold Corporation is a gold production, exploration and development company with a high-quality portfolio of mines and projects in Ghana, Africa’s largest and safest gold producer.
