  • The partnership accelerates the carrier’s digital transformation and expands its global retail reach.
  • The deal reinforces Ethiopian’s Vision 2035 goal to rank among the world’s top 20 airlines.

Ethiopian Airlines is accelerating its digital transformation through a major partnership with Sabre Corporation, a U.S.-based global travel technology firm, to modernize its retail systems and enhance customer experience.

The deal brings AI-powered airline retailing to Africa’s largest carrier, signaling a new era in aviation technology and pricing innovation.

Under the agreement, Ethiopian Airlines has implemented SabreMosaic Airline Retailing, a next-generation retail platform designed to enable personalized travel offers, dynamic pricing, and modern distribution models.

The platform integrates machine learning and analytics to help airlines move beyond legacy fare systems and compete more effectively in the digital marketplace.

AI-Powered personalization and smart pricing

Through SabreMosaic’s Offer Management suite, Ethiopian Airlines can now design and deliver personalized offers in real time—adapting fares, bundles, and ancillary services to traveler behavior and market demand.

The system, built on Sabre’s Travel Data Cloud, uses artificial intelligence and predictive analytics to optimize revenue and expand merchandising opportunities across channels.

“With SabreMosaic, Ethiopian Airlines can launch products faster, apply AI-driven dynamic pricing, and deliver tailored travel experiences instantly,” said Roshan Mendis, Chief Commercial Officer at Sabre. “It enables smarter pricing precision, greater flexibility, and more options for both travelers and agency partners.”

The technology is expected to boost Ethiopian’s competitive edge, allowing the carrier to respond quickly to market shifts, improve ancillary sales, and strengthen customer loyalty in an increasingly crowded global market.

Next-generation distribution and global reach

Ethiopian Airlines will also adopt Sabre’s NDC IT solution, enabling advanced content distribution beyond traditional booking systems.

This integration offers travel agents and customers access to richer content, transparent offers, and flexible pricing options, reinforcing Ethiopian’s digital leadership in Africa’s aviation market.

The move aligns with Ethiopian Airlines’ Vision 2035, a long-term strategy to become one of the world’s top 20 airlines by passenger traffic.

With its modern fleet, expanding route network, and a strategic hub in Addis Ababa, the carrier is positioning itself as a digital-first airline connecting Africa to global markets.

“Our Vision 2035 strategy focuses on scale, speed, and service,” said Mesfin Tasew, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines Group. “SabreMosaic gives us the technology to modernize retailing, price more intelligently, and offer travelers greater value.”

Strengthening a two-decade partnership

Headquartered in Southlake, Texas, Sabre Corporation provides software and technology solutions to airlines and hotels in more than 160 countries.

Its collaboration with Ethiopian Airlines spanning over two decades has been central to the carrier’s modernization journey.

The new partnership marks a defining step in that relationship, setting a new standard for AI-powered aviation retailing in Africa.

As airlines globally race toward data-driven retail models, Ethiopian Airlines’ adoption of SabreMosaic highlights Africa’s growing role in the next phase of aviation technology and digital commerce.
