The Maslow Time Square has officially rebranded as Time Square Hotel, a move aimed at sharpening its brand identity and setting clearer expectations for guests. Management says the name change takes effect immediately and does not alter how the hotel operates.

“While our name is changing, guests can be assured our ownership, management and commitment to excellent service remain the same,” said General Manager Ruben Gooranah. All existing bookings, contracts and negotiated rates remain valid, with only branding and communications updated.

Three-tier luxury under one roof

What remains unchanged and sets the property apart is its room offering. Time Square Hotel is the first in South Africa to feature three-star, four-star and five-star graded rooms in one building, as recognised by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa. The concept allows guests to choose accommodation that fits both budget and preference without compromising access to shared facilities.

“This approach lets travellers tailor their stay to their needs,” said Rooms Division Manager Lesego Kitsa, adding that service standards remain consistent across the hotel.

The 238-room property includes 10 suites. Three-star Foundation rooms measure 24 square metres, four-star Median rooms span 27 square metres, while five-star Zenith Level rooms offer 36 square metres with upgraded finishes and separate bath and shower.

Casino, arena drive Gauteng entertainment hub

Owned by Sun International, the hotel anchors the group’s largest gaming, leisure and entertainment destination in Gauteng.

It is directly linked to the Time Square Casino and the 8,500-seat SunBet Arena, and sits opposite Menlyn Maine Mall. Restaurants, lounges and bars on site offer a wide mix of cuisines, while families have access to an arcade, bowling lanes and a supervised crèche.

The arena and hotel have hosted international and local acts, including Bryan Adams and UB40 (2026), Kenny G (2025) and Lord of the Dance (2025).

Luxury amenities with value-driven pricing

Guest reviews frequently highlight the hotel’s location, spacious rooms and quick service. Zenith Level guests also enjoy a premium breakfast in the 12th-floor Luminary Lounge, city views from the Solis bar and access to a rooftop splash pool. A fully equipped gym with 360-degree views is open to residents.

Rates operate on dynamic pricing, starting with bed-and-breakfast options, alongside value packages such as date-night and extended-stay deals. The Maslow Hotel in Sandton, also part of Sun International, remains unchanged.
