ORA Developers, led by Egyptian billionaire Naguib Sawiris, has signed a four-year sponsorship agreement to become the official title sponsor of the Egyptian Premier League, in partnership with the Egyptian Professional Clubs Association and United Sports Company, marking one of the most significant commercial partnerships in Egyptian football in recent years.

Under the agreement, the country’s top-flight football competition will be rebranded as the “Ora League” for the duration of the deal, subject to the supervision of the Egyptian Football Association. The move positions Ora at the center of Egypt’s professional football ecosystem as the league seeks greater commercial expansion and structural development.

Expanding private sector role in Egyptian football

The sponsorship underscores a broader push to deepen private-sector involvement in Egyptian sports, particularly in football, where league organizers are working to strengthen competitiveness, improve governance, and attract long-term investment.

Ora said the partnership aligns with its long-term strategy of supporting sports development in Egypt, building on prior sponsorships that have included youth teams and the national football setup.

Leadership presence at signing ceremony

The signing ceremony brought together senior figures from Egypt’s sports and media ecosystem, including the Minister of Youth and Sports, Gohar Nabil, alongside industry leaders such as Naguib Sawiris, Executive Chairman of Ora Developers Group.

Also present were MP Ahmed Diab, Mohamed Yehia Lotfy, Chairman of United Sports Company, Haitham Abdel Azim, CEO of Ora Developers Egypt, Seif El Waziri, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of United Media Services, and Hany Abo Rida, Chairman of the Egyptian Football Association.

Sawiris outlines sports development vision

Speaking at the event, Sawiris said the partnership reflects Ora’s broader commitment to football development in Egypt, describing the league as a unifying national platform with deep cultural and social influence.

He said the company’s involvement goes beyond urban development, emphasizing investments in experiences that shape community identity, with football serving as a key pillar of social engagement and youth inspiration.

Building a more commercial and competitive league

League officials said the partnership is expected to support efforts to strengthen the structure of Egyptian football, improve commercial sustainability, and expand sponsorship inflows.

United Sports Company described the agreement as a step toward enhancing the league’s organizational and commercial framework, to boost fan engagement and elevate the competition’s regional standing.

A long-term push into sports investment

Ora’s sponsorship reflects a growing trend among regional developers and conglomerates turning to sports as a platform for brand expansion and youth engagement, while also contributing to the professionalization of domestic leagues.

The deal positions the Egyptian Premier League for a new phase of commercial branding and investment-led growth over the next four years.
